The Movie Barf Monday series will screen the latest film by Nicolas Winding Refn, director of Drive and The Neon Demon! Her Private Hell is a surreal cinematic adventure where the line between reality and nightmare blurs. Following the screening, film critic Jan Nevyjel and the series’ presenter, Ryan Keating, will discuss the film!
👁️ Set in a futuristic metropolis engulfed by an unnatural mist, the story follows a young woman searching for her missing father. Her journey crosses with an American soldier trying to rescue his daughter from what he believes is Hell itself.
💀 Inspired by Refn's own near-death experience, the film is his most personal work to date—a meditation on mortality, rebirth and transformation. Echoing the neon-drenched style of Drive and The Neon Demon, the film combines striking imagery, minimalist storytelling and surreal sci-fi visions with a haunting score by legendary Italian composer Pino Donaggio.
🌴 Her Private Hell had its world premiere in the Official Selection of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

💀 Tento snímek, inspirovaný Refnovou osobní zkušeností s klinickou smrtí, je jeho dosud nejosobnějším filmem – meditací o smrtelnosti, znovuzrození a proměně. Film navazuje na neonovou estetiku Drive a Neon Demon a spojuje výraznou obrazovou stylizaci, minimalistické vyprávění a surrealistické sci-fi vize s hudbou legendárního italského skladatele Pina Donaggia.
🌴 Film měl světovou premiéru v Oficiálním výběru Mezinárodního filmového festivalu v Cannes 2026, čímž se Nicolas Winding Refn vrátil na festivalovou Croisette.
