The play `Hence Proven` is set during the time of the ninth-grade examinations. It tells the story of a group of school students. Through this play, we see how various factors - such as exams, studies, grades, school rules, friendships, and mutual trust - shape the events in their lives. Driven by the pressure to secure good marks in exams and resentment toward the education system, children hatch a plan to do something as extreme as stealing the question paper. Initially, the plan seems simple, but as events unfold, the situation becomes increasingly complex. Someone is hiding something, someone else is lying, and eventually, no one trusts anyone anymore. Everyone begins to think only of themselves, and as a result, the relationships among the children start to change. A mysterious corridor in the school and a cryptic door located there add further to their difficulties.
Amidst all this chaos, one thing becomes clear: while schools teach students about honesty and good values, the intense competition to secure high marks often drives these same children to choose the wrong path. This play compels us to reflect on exactly what we are doing to achieve success, and the price we are paying for it.
`Hence Proven` is not merely a play about examination malpractice. It explores the friendships of teenagers, the confusion within their minds, their rebellious streaks, and the pressures exerted by the education system. Does achieving good grades equate to proving one`s worth? Or is it equally important to possess personal values, meaningful friendships, and a clear sense of right and wrong? The play poses these questions to the audience.
