Heartlands Music History
The style of music now known as “Heartland Rock” began in 1967 with the formation of a well known four-piece rock and roll band named Creedance Clearwater Revival.
Heartland Rock was often classed as a Roots Blues Rock sub-genre and developed organically through the influence of rock and roll with a splash of Country and a dash of Folk.
Musically and lyrically Heartland Rock is characterized by driving guitars, raspy vocals, anthemic choruses and focuses on working class life and everyday resilience.
FIRST SET
Heartlands Rock Show dedicates the first set to the iconic Big 4 of Heartland Rock, namely Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Bob Seger and John Mellencamp. You can expect to hear some favourites from each of these artists and we encourage any requests to consider adding to our future shows.
SECOND SET
Salute to CCR and John Fogerty due to their early influence that produced the Heartland Rock inspiration.
PLUS
A variety of artists and bands who are ‘acquired’, inspired' or 'connected’ to Heartland Artists or song writers carrying on the tradition from when they collaborated with the Big 4. (includes Bryan Adams, Don Henley, Bon jovi, Stevie Nicks, One Hit wonders UK & Aussie Heartland)
PLUS
Heartland Rock Female Artists who were shaped by the same foundational pillars as their male counterparts and by Folk and Singer-Songwriters who were deeply inspired by being socially observant to everyday human dignity and small-town realities.
