who are experiencing a cardiovascular emergency.
About this Event

The ACLS Provider 2-day course is designed to ensure healthcare providers learn the necessary skills to provide evidence-based care to patients in cardiac arrest or other life-threatening situations. This course reinforces use of appropriate basic life support and automated external defibrillation, and then extends skills to advanced interventions.


Attendees MUST have a HEART and STROKE ID NUMBER to complete your course registration. If you do not have one, please sign up at the If you need assistance, please message [email protected] with your question and the course date you like to register.


To enroll into this course, you MUST have an ACTIVE CURRENT HEART AND STROKE BLS CERTIFICATE

Note: Prerequisites are a current Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support (BLS ) certificate
and an (passing score = 70%)


If your BLS certification (current H&S certification is a mandatory prerequisite for the ACLS course) is out of date you may sign up for the BLENDED BLS course . This option requires learners to complete the online at home BLS module (please print your completed certificate) and to arrive 1 hour earlier prior to the start of the ACLS course to complete your BLS certification. The cost of the extended training is $80 and available as an add-on option prior to checkout.

The course and exam will be based on the 2020 Heart and Stroke ACLS Provider Manual.


Topics include:

  • Safe operation of defibrillator/pacing devices.
  • Use of airway/respiratory equipment (oral/nasal airways, laryngeal mask airways, combitubes, bag/valve/mask devices).
  • Management of cardiac arrest (VF/VT/PEA/asystole).
  • Management of stable and unstable tachyarrythmias.
  • Management of bradycardias.
  • Approach to unstable coronary syndrome/myocardial infarction Initial management of acute stroke.
  • Approach to patient with hypotension/shock.
  • Crisis management principles (leadership, communication, situational awareness).


ACLS at SimSinai uses an adult-friendly education philosophy, giving extensive hands-on experience in resuscitation using our high-fidelity simulators. Students work in teams and rotate through different roles, learning how to function as team leaders and team members.
