This half-day advanced lecture and cadaveric dissection course, offered in both morning and afternoon sessions, is designed for experienced neurotology-neurosurgery surgical teams. Led by Dr. Hirofumi Nakatomi, developer of the technique, the course provides focused instruction on the transcondylar approach and dorsal cochlear nucleus action potential (DNAP) monitoring, a near-field intraoperative auditory monitoring method that delivers rapid feedback on cochlear nerve function during vestibular schwannoma surgery.
Participants will engage in hands-on cadaveric dissection emphasizing advanced surgical anatomy, operative technique, auditory monitoring integration, and strategies to optimize hearing preservation. Through expert guidance and practical application, attendees will gain deeper insight into the technical nuances and decision-making required for successful management of complex skull base pathology.
