We have been invited by the Des Moines Historical Society to do two back-to back presentations at the historic Kelly's Little Nipper, located in a building dating back to the days of the saloon that is the subject of our book, and just blocks away from the then-notorious East Court Avenue neighborhood where Erastus Scott operated his brothel and he and the Carter Gang masterminded land fraud, grand theft, fencing and police corruption. Kelly's is at 1701 E. Grand Avenue, and we will be talking about and doing readings from our book from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Wednesday, September 30.Admission is free! We will also have copies of our book to sign and sell.
