About this Event
Co-Facilitated by Music Therapist Kate Beever, MT-BC & Art Therapist Bodhi Simpson, PhD, LCPC, ATR
As helping professionals, we often spend much of our time tending to the needs and emotions of others. While this work can be deeply meaningful, the ongoing emotional demands of caring for and supporting the needs of others can contribute to chronic stress, overwhelm, and compassion fatigue. Developing intentional practices that support our own well-being is essential to sustaining ourselves in this meaningful work.
This workshop is an interactive, experiential workshop facilitated by a registered art therapist and a board-certified music therapist, that invites participants to explore creative expression as a pathway toward self-awareness, emotional regulation, and restoration. Participants are offered an opportunity to reconnect with curiosity, self-compassion, play, and different methods of creative expression. No previous experience with art or music is required. Participants will leave with practical creative self-care strategies that can be adapted to their individual needs and used to support their work with clients.
Objectives:
Those who complete the workshop will:
*Personally experience the SoulCollage® process through card-making
*Personally experience several Expressive Wellness techniques to support healing from grief
*Identify therapeutic situations which are likely to respond well to the SoulCollage® and Expressive Wellness interventions
