About this Event
This powerful workshop is dedicated to exploring how America has been built through a profound contradiction: a nation that spoke the language of equality and liberty “for all” while building prosperity only for some. Together we will explore how past and current federal policies created and sustain today’s racial wealth gap. We will discuss how this applies nationally, and specifically to the local context of Detroit. Through open dialogue, and shared stories, we will understand how these policies unevenly distributed both benefits and harms across the the US, and in Detroit. Finally, we will discuss Reparation Generation, a multiracial organization that creates and executes Reparation in Action models that demonstrate repair and healing are possible....now.
