About this Event

🎨 Healing in Color: Mental Health Through the Arts

Presented by Envision Unlimited’s Cultural and Faith Based Empowerment Program in partnership with St. Matthew United Methodist Church

Join us for Healing in Color: Mental Health Through the Arts, a vibrant community event where creativity becomes a pathway to connection, relaxation, self-expression, and mental wellness.

Take a break from the everyday and immerse yourself in a welcoming, uplifting atmosphere filled with hands-on creative experiences. Whether you're an experienced artist or simply looking for something new to try, there's something for everyone!

💜 A Community Partnership Rooted in Care

Envision Unlimited is grateful to partner with Rev. Rodney Walker and St. Matthew United Methodist Church to bring Healing in Color to the congregation and the broader community they serve. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to making mental wellness opportunities accessible, welcoming, and engaging through creativity, connection, and community.

Together, we're creating space for adults to pause, recharge, explore their creativity, and invest in their well-being. We are especially grateful to Pastor Rodney Walker and St. Matthew Church for hosting this event and providing food for our participants.

🎨 Creative Experiences
🖌️ Canvas Painting

Let your creativity flow! Choose a pre-drawn canvas and create artwork that reflects your personality, mood, or imagination. No artistic experience is necessary!

🕯️ Creative Candle Making

Create your own personalized candle with a selection of scents inspired by aromatherapy and a variety of decorative options. Engage your senses, explore your creativity, and create something beautiful to take home.

🌸 Decorative Vase & Centerpiece Making

Create a beautiful decorative vase or centerpiece while adding your own personal touch.

Bring something meaningful to you! Participants are invited to bring a small keepsake, memento, photograph, or other meaningful item to incorporate into their creation.

Take a moment to reflect on the people, memories, experiences, and things that bring meaning and joy to your life while creating something beautiful to cherish.

🦢 Origami Creation

Discover the art of origami through a guided tutorial and learn how a simple piece of paper can become something beautiful.

🍽️ Food Will Be Provided!

We are grateful to Pastor Rodney Walker and St. Matthew Church for generously providing food for our participants.

🌈 Why Healing in Color?

Creativity can offer a meaningful opportunity to slow down, step away from everyday stress, and reconnect with ourselves. Engaging in activities such as painting, candle making, and crafting can encourage self-expression, help us focus our minds, and create moments of relaxation and joy.

You don't have to be an artist to benefit. Sometimes, simply creating something with your hands can help you gain a fresh perspective, experience a sense of accomplishment, and make space for your mental well-being.

Healing in Color is more than an arts and crafts event. It's an opportunity to pause, connect with others, express yourself, and prioritize your well-being in a welcoming community setting.
