About this Event
Our Christmas Special combines much-loved readings from classic festive poetry and prose with interesting talks and panel discussions by authors of books in a wide range of genres.
This quick-fire event will fill you with Christmas spirit and also provide the perfect opportunity to pick up affordable, personalised gifts for everyone on your Christmas shopping list!
We'll announce the full list of authors and the programme a bit nearer the time, but to whet your appetite, here are some of the speakers already booked to join us:
- Helen Fripp, author of historical novels set in France
- Bronwen Williams, author of "Sidney's Patch", a novel set during WWII
- Debbie Young, author of cosy mystery novels and feel-good short stories
VENUE
The recently refurbished Bethesda Chapel will provide a warm and cosy venue for our progamme, plus an adjacent room housing our bookstall and festive tea and cake.
Free on-street parking is available throughout the village, and there is a car park along the high street beside the village hall, for which a small voluntary donation is asked. Please leave the street immediately in front of the chapel free for those with limited mobility. Please leave local residents' driveways clear for them to enter and exit safely.
REFRESHMENTS
Tea, coffee and cake are included in the ticket price of £10. A small booking charge will be added at the time of booking to cover administration costs. Please book early to avoid disappointment - and to make sure we have enough cake for everyone! Feel free to bring your own refreshments if you prefer.
BOOK SALES
A £2 book voucher is included with the ticket, valid at the event. All our speakers give their time for free, so please make the most of your voucher to support them by buying their books. A book stall manned by the authors will be open before and after the talks and during the breaks.
