About this Event
In this workshop, participants will learn how to have hard conversations within their relationships. Participants will have the opportunity to practice a process developed by psychologists known as Nonviolent Communication. Discover how to gain confidence in communicating your needs more effectively, and in navigating conflict with family members, partners, friends, coworkers, and more, so you can develop more connected and fulfilling relationships.

About the Presenters
Maggie Baisley is a licensed clinical psychologist in Virginia and completed her PhD in 2017. Her graduate research focused on trauma reactions and humor as communication. She specializes in clinical and policy work related to power-based violence and conflict. She has been actively engaged in community work around responses to conflict, harm, and violence for more than a decade.
Valentina Raman is a community organizer and therapist who is currently pursuing her PhD in Clinical Psychology. For over 10 years, she has served in non-profits, community-based organizations, and schools, facilitating spaces of belonging, learning, and action towards the greater well-being of people and planet. Her research currently focuses on human flourishing, and how community spaces can protect and support people to thrive.

Refund, Cancellation, No Show & Re-Scheduling Policy:
Participants who register for the workshop and do not attend or cancel their registration less than 24 hours prior to the start of the program, will not receive a refund.
Refunds (not including the processing fee) will be issued with 24 hour cancellation notice after the program has completed. Please submit your refund request for the event to: [email protected]
Participants who are not able to attend and have contacted the Women’s Center 24 hours prior to the workshop can re-schedule for the same workshop on another day, up to 6 months after the initial workshop date.
Full refunds will be issued for any program cancelled by The Women’s Center. If the program is rescheduled, we will offer to transfer the cost to the new date in lieu of a refund.
