Join us for an afternoon of insights and practice in visible mending.
“My journey began about 15 years ago so I could keep wearing a pair of jeans I loved. The more I stitched, the more I learned, and the more I loved the process and the pieces. I’ve worked mostly on my denim jeans and jackets, but the free stitching, the colors, the fun, and the beauty have led me to scarves, pillows, chair cushions, and beyond… You just keep going, kind of like life. Following the thread, letting the repair lead you. More than it becoming like it was, it’s making something new.”
We’ll do some stitching together and get you on a path to keep exploring on your own. There will be lots of samples to see and touch.

About Diane
Diane has had thread in her hands since sixth grade, when Mrs. Mamie Jenkins taught her to crochet in the small Texas town where she grew up. More than 40 years of passionate knitting, with LOTS of sweaters, hats, socks, and mittens for Colorado mountain winters, taught her to be a “thinking knitter,” and she found joy in teaching others along the way to be “happy knitters who make things that fit!” Knitting with wire, plastic caution tape, and clothesline cotton opened her thinking to structure, and things just kind of expanded from there. Diane says she’s “plenty scared of a whole lot of things,” but artistically she is fearless and bold: happy and free.
