Haus Of Condiments is the UK's first shop devoted entirely to condiments, pickles, seasonings and sauces. Set on Rochester's historic High Street, the store is housed within a Grade I-listed 17th-century building at the heart of the town's Dickensian heritage, surrounded by the streets, landmarks and architecture that inspired Charles Dickens. The building is also believed to have been the home of Mr Pumblechook, Pip's pompous uncle-by-marriage in Great Expectations, further strengthening its connection to Rochester's literary history. More recently, the premises was formerly home to Elizabeth's Restaurant, a much-loved local institution that served the Rochester community for more than 50 years and closed its doors in 2019.
