Beneath the shadowy boughs of the Historic Sallier Oak, guests are invited to explore the galleries of the Imperial Calcasieu Museum in a different light.Join our docent staff for a special late-night candlelight experience exploring the haunted history, legends, and unexplained stories of Southwest Louisiana. Discover the histories connected to nine mysterious locations, including the Imperial Calcasieu Museum, ACTS Theatre, 504 Reid Street, the Calcasieu Courthouse, the Gothic Hanging Jail, Ellis Hill, Hyatt High School, Big Woods Cemetery, and Barnes Creek.
The experience also incorporates our Cryptids & Curiosities Hall, where guests can encounter unusual natural specimens, curious objects, and creatures of legend.
Come hear the stories, explore the mysteries, and discover a different side of Southwest Louisiana’s history. Costumes are encouraged, so dress for an evening among the strange and supernatural.
Tours are accessible for guests and recommended for ages 13 and up.

Reservations are required. Guests must reserve their place in advance through the Museum’s website. Space is limited, so we encourage guests to reserve early.
Please plan to arrive and check in 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Tours begin promptly at their scheduled time.
Your evening will include a candlelight exploration of the Museum’s galleries, stories of nine haunted locations throughout Southwest Louisiana, and a visit through our Cryptids & Curiosities Hall.
A few things to remember:
• The tour takes place entirely indoors in our air-conditioned galleries.
• Seating is available upon request.
• Costumes are encouraged!
• The tour is recommended for ages 13 and up.
• Guests ages 13–17 must be accompanied by an adult.
• This is not designed as a scare attraction, but some historical accounts include death, justice tales, and other mature subject matter.
