Three 1-hour sessions. Join one or all three. A free morning of yoga traditional breathwork, yoga nidra and yoga wisdom with Acharya Bala.
About this Event

Experience yoga as it was designed: a complete system of body, breath and mind.

Our founder, Acharya Bala, is in Singapore this November. Join us for a free morning of traditional yoga. Come for one session or stay for all three. Each session is booked separately below.

All sessions are open to everyone. No experience needed.

PROGRAMME

9.00am to 10.00am

Breathe Better – The Science of Breath

The Hatha Yoga Pradipika states: when the breath moves, the mind moves. When the breath is still, the mind is still.

Pranayama is how yoga steadies the mind. Learn simple traditional breathing practices step by step, with personal correction. Stress relief is only the first benefit. Regular practice builds energy, focus and the stillness needed for meditation. You leave with techniques you can use every day.

For everyone. No flexibility or experience needed.

10.15am to 11.15am

Deep Conscious Rest – Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra means "yogic sleep". You lie down for the whole session. The teacher guides your awareness through the body and breath. The body rests completely while the mind stays awake and aware.

Yoga nidra is a practice of turning the senses inward. This is the stage of yoga that prepares the mind for meditation. Better sleep and a calmer mind often follow. Leave calm and refreshed.

For everyone, especially anyone who feels tired or unable to switch off. No movement or experience needed.

11.30am to 12.30pm

The Roots of Yoga – Introduction to the Classical Yoga Texts

Yoga today is often seen as exercise. For centuries it was a complete path for body, breath and mind, recorded in the classical texts.

Acharya Bala shares what these texts say yoga is really for, and how their wisdom still applies to daily life. Discover where the practices come from and what they are meant to achieve.

For everyone, from the curious to experienced practitioners and yoga teachers. No experience needed.

HOW TO BOOK

All sessions are free. Select a ticket for each session you plan to attend. Places are limited because we keep sessions small for personal attention.

If you can no longer come, please cancel your ticket so someone on the waitlist can take your place.

ABOUT HATHA VIDYA

They come from India’s ancient hatha yoga tradition, passed down from teacher to student over many centuries. We have centres in India, the UAE, Singapore and the UK. Classes are small, and every student receives one-to-one attention within the group.
