One month and counting - get ready for a grand Harvest Festival at Tahquamenon! Campers and non-campers welcome. See you there!September 25th
* 6-8 pm: Vampire Fish! (Lower Falls Amphitheater)
Guest presenter Meg Sigmon (Great Lakes Fisheries Commission) will be putting on a sea lamprey presentation and have live specimens! Seating available on a first come, first served basis. Camp chairs may be brought.
September 26th
* 9-10 am: coffee, donuts, and hot chocolate (Campground Host sites)
* 10 am: hayride with Smokey Bear (Hemlock Campground entrance)
* 11am-1pm (drop-in): open archery shoot (archery range) - learn how to shoot a bow! No personal equipment permitted.
* 1pm: hayride with Smokey Bear (Portage Campground entrance)
* 1-3 pm (drop-in): candle dipping craft (Lower Falls Picnic Area)
* 2-4 pm (drop-in): pumpkin judging - vote for your favorite! Winners will be announced at the "Best in Show Awards" (Lower Falls Picnic Area)
* 2-4 pm (drop-in): chili cook off - vote for your favorite! (Portage Campground - near the bathroom building)
* 2-4 pm: campsite judging - park staff will select their choices for best decorated campsites (Lower Falls Campgrounds). Winners will be announced at the "Best in Show Awards."
* 4-5 pm: "Tahquamenon Cryptids" staff play (Lower Falls Amphitheater) - seating available on a first come, first served basis. Camp chairs may be brought.
* 5-5:30 pm: Best in Show Awards - costume catwalk & awards (Lower Falls Amphitheater)
* 5:30-7:30 pm: Trick-or-treating (Lower Falls Campgrounds)
Contest Information:
* Pumpkin carving contest: Campers can pick up 1 pumpkin per site at the Lower Falls Campground Office. Additional, personally purchased pumpkins may also be brought and entered into the pumpkin carving contest. All entries must be placed near the road at your campsite by 12pm on September 26th for pick-up.
* Costume catwalk: Park staff will be looking out for great costumes during the staff play. The "Costume Catwalk" will begin directly after. The judges will make their final decisions and consider anyone who did not attend the play.
* Chili cook-off: Contestants can bring their best crock pot of chili to the cook-off location between 1:30 - 2pm. Winning dishes will be announced at the "Best in Show Awards."
