Harvesting Legacies: Reaping the Harvest, Sowing the Seeds
FAMU's Harvest Fest 2026 is a vibrant celebration of culture, sustainability, agricultural heritage, and community in Tallahassee, Florida!
Presented by the Lola Hampton & Frank Pinder Center for Agroecology, this free, family-friendly festival honors the enduring legacies of two agricultural pioneers whose contributions helped shape the region's agricultural landscape. Lola Hampton, an educator and advocate for sustainable farming, championed opportunities for minority farmers, while Frank Pinder's leadership in community agriculture helped inspire generations through land stewardship, innovation, and a commitment to strengthening local food systems.
Bringing together farmers, artists, educators, families, and community members, Harvest Fest celebrates the agricultural traditions that sustain us while cultivating a future rooted in knowledge, cultural pride, unity, and sustainability.
Now celebrating its fifth year, Harvest Fest offers an exciting day of farm-to-table flavors, live music, cultural arts, agricultural education, storytelling, and family-friendly experiences. From engaging cooking demonstrations with local chefs and hands-on gardening activities to interactive agricultural workshops and the Ubuntu Mavuno Village, our special children's activity area, the festival offers opportunities for every generation to learn, connect, and celebrate.
More than a festival, Harvest Fest is a multigenerational gathering that honors the land that nourishes us, the legacies that inspire us, and the community that brings us together. It is a space where agricultural wisdom meets cultural expression, where traditions are shared, and where the seeds of tomorrow are planted through education, creativity, and collective engagement.
We invite farmers, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, and community members to become part of this growing tradition. Whether volunteering, sharing agricultural knowledge, showcasing local products, presenting cultural traditions, or simply joining the celebration, everyone has a place in the harvest.
Come celebrate our roots, honor our legacies, and sow the seeds of tomorrow—TOGETHER!

Harvesting Legacies: Reaping the Harvest, Sowing the Seeds
Honoring Our Legacy. Cultivating Community. Growing Our Future.
The Lola Hampton & Frank Pinder Center for Agroecology at Florida A&M University proudly presents the 5th Annual Harvest Fest—a vibrant celebration of culture, agricultural heritage, sustainability, and the power of community.
Rooted in the legacies of Dr. Lola Hampton and Mr. Frank Pinder, two agricultural trailblazers whose contributions helped shape our community, Harvest Fest honors those who cultivated the land before us while inspiring generations to come.
More than a festival, Harvest Fest is a celebration of who we are, where we come from, and what we can grow together. Join farmers, artists, educators, chefs, and families for a day of farm-fresh flavors, live music, cultural arts, agricultural education, interactive experiences, and family fun!
As we celebrate five years of growing together, we invite you to reconnect with the land, embrace our shared heritage, and help sow the seeds of a stronger, more sustainable future.
Because every seed tells a story, every harvest honors a legacy, and everyone has a place in the harvest!
