Join us for a presentation at the Hartland Learning Centre followed by a guided tour of Hartland Landfill. Learn how the CRD safely manages the region’s waste and supports the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle). Highlights include the landfill active face, gas-to-energy plant, leachate lagoons, site rehabilitation with native trees, and waste diversion areas.
Most of the program occurs indoors or on the bus. There is a short time outside when walking up or down stairs between the learning centre and the parking lot. Washrooms with sinks and running water are available in the parking lot and inside the learning centre. If you foresee challenges with the stairs, let us know and we will arrange for accessible access to the learning centre.
Parking is available in the lot located to the right just before you enter the facility (Mt. Work mountain bike parking lot). Please walk through the gate located behind the washrooms and make your way up the stairs to the Hartland Learning Centre.
