If you’re an intermediate or experienced hiker, we welcome you on this chance to experience nature at its finest and join us on this exhilarating hike!
This trail takes us past crystal-clear water, circles the lake through forest and rugged, rocky shoreline, with the autumn leaves in full show along the way. Since it's a no-facilities park, pack water, snacks, and sturdy hiking shoes. Spots on the bus are limited, so grab yours now for a full day of Muskoka's best autumn scenery!
Bus Transportation: Plan to arrive at the pick up point by 8.30am. We will be leaving promptly at 9am and aren’t able to wait for latecomers. We will be dropped off at the same place we started (Islington TTC Station) around 5pm pending traffic. We will not be offering an option to meet us directly at the hike starting point.

Length: 9 km. Please note: This hike is a loop and therefore has no drop-out points.
Pace of hike: 4km per hour - Moderate
Difficulty: Intermediate
Terrain Type: Relatively flat, typical elevation changes of provincial parks. Recommend basic hiking experience in provincial parks, not equivalent to urban hikes.
Family-friendly:(suitable for young people 17 and under) Yes
Stroller-friendly: (paved trails accessible for strollers) No
Dogs permitted: No
Open to people who want to drive to the start point to meet the group: No - this hike is only open to those travelling with us by bus
Requiring hiking boots: Absolutely essential - hikers MUST have these to take part
Requiring crampons/ice cleats: Recommended but not essential

What To Expect
Hike leader: Kajen (he/him), Olavo (he/him), Victoria (she/her)
What you should plan to bring with you: Packed lunch, snacks, bug spray, 2+ litres of water, long pants, hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes.
Registration fee: $50 plus Eventbrite fees though if you cannot afford it, please contact us at [email protected] to request a Pay What You Can registration based on your circumstance.
Limited tickets: This bus hike is restricted to 43 registrants. Tickets will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and are non-refundable.
Pre-hike email: Registrants will receive additional details by email the day before the hike, such as what to bring on the day, what to wear, etc.
Weather precautions: The hike will take place regardless of rain, wind, or snow so please dress accordingly! We will only cancel or postpone the hike if weather conditions are considered extreme or dangerous, in which case registered hikers will be informed 48 hours in advance.
