Approx 9 miles. This ride sets out on the High Peak Trail passing beneath Harboro' Rocks. After enjoying expansive views across the surrounding countryisde, the route moves onto green lanes which pass close by Minninglow Neolithic burial ground. Country lanes skirting the village of Aldwark, connect to a fine grassland bridleway, with good opportunities to canter if all riders are happy to do so. You'll be rewarded by excellent views of the turbines and across to Carsington reservoir as you pick up the trail once again to conclude the route.View the route demo video here:
Worth noting:
This ride includes some sections of roadwork, including two short sections where HGVs may be encountered.
Bridleways crossing pasture land may contain cows and sheep.
The route passes a clay pigeon shoot venue, there is a possibility this may be operational on the day of this ride. In the event this is problematic, an alternate route across to Bonsall Moor will run, preserving the grassland section, and avoiding passing directly by the shoot.
There is a bridge crossing on the trail which has reasonable elevation but high sides.
All riders must have their own BHS Gold or equivalent Public Liability Insurance. Under 18s are welcome but on a first visit must be accompanied on the ride by an adult rider.
Payment of £45 per person secures your place. Parking is by kind permission of Sibelco UK and is free of charge. Please message the page for more info or to book please click the 'find tickets' button.
