Halloween Wreath Making at Souter Lighthouse, South Tyneside
Saturday 24th October, 11-2pm
Join us for a relaxed and creative workshop where we'll put a sophisticated twist on Halloween by creating a striking crescent-shaped wreath inspired by the autumn moon.
In this hands-on session, you'll learn how to bind fresh moss and seasonal autumn foliage onto a crescent wreath frame, building a beautifully natural base for your design. Don't worry if you've never made a wreath before—I'll guide you step by step, making this workshop perfect for beginners as well as anyone looking to develop their floristry skills.
Once your wreath takes shape, you'll add a carefully curated collection of dried and preserved botanical materials in rich shades of black, deep red, purple, and burnt orange, creating a design full of texture, contrast, and seasonal drama. To finish, you'll add pine cones, miniature pumpkins, and a striking bow, giving your wreath the perfect Halloween flourish.
With magnificent views of the north east coastline as your backdrop, this workshop is the perfect excuse to slow down, get creative, and enjoy a few mindful hours surrounded by nature. With the gardens beginning their autumn transformation, you'll find plenty of inspiration as you create a wreath that's both elegant and wonderfully seasonal.
You'll leave with a beautiful handmade wreath that's ready to take pride of place on your front door or in your home throughout the Halloween season—and you'll definitely be able to say, "I made that!"

Our workshops at The Northern Flower Garden are always fun and supportive where I demonstrate professional floristry techniques, share the tips and tricks and we’ll keep the creativity flowing with our own teas, coffees and cake.

Car parking charges apply at Souter Lighthouse for non-National Trust members.
We will be located in the Whitburn Coastal Conservation Centre beside Souter Lighthouse, not the actual Lighthouse.
This venue is fully accessible for all visitors, with step-free access throughout.
