Ever wondered what it feels like to tattoo?
In this two-hour beginner workshop, you can find out! Real machines, real needles, and synthetic skin to practise on and take home as a keychain. Stencil and Tattoo Designs will be Halloween-themed.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- How to set up a station and keep it clean and professional while you work
- Needle proficiency: Round liner, round shader, and magnum. What each needle does and when to reach for it.
- Machine control and technique: Depth, angle, and hand speed.
- Machine Drills: Practice basic lines and shading with machines before moving on to the final piece.
- How to take a design from a stencil to a finished piece (Or freestyle if you feel confident enough).
Everything is provided
Rotary Tattoo Machines, synthetic skin, pre-made stencils, needles, ink caps, gloves, barrier film, and black ink.
Have a specific design in mind?
Send a message to our inbox or Instagram, and we will stencil a design of your choice to practice on! Please keep designs simple, with minimal shading, due to time constraints. Several Halloween-themed designs that we hand-pick will be available for those who do not have a specific design in mind.
Good to know
- The venue is next to Spadina & Sullivan, on the 510 Spadina line. Chinatown Centre (222 Spadina) is about a 30-second walk from this station. Our venue is in the courtyard of the mall (Unit C1). Please message us on Instagram if you are still lost in the area so we can send an organizer to come help you.
- All single-use items (needles, ink) are brand new and opened in front of you.
- Nobody is tattooed. Every piece is done on synthetic skin.
- No experience needed, and you don't need to be able to draw.
- You keep the synthetic skin canvas you worked on, or you can make it into a keychain.
15 spots. $50 per person.
