A celebration you won't want to miss! Dress in your best Halloween costume and join us for an afternoon of mahjong and a celebration of Karen's 41st birthday.
$75 entry includes:

Tournament winner receives a set of Peace Love Mahjong Teal tiles
Costume contest with a prize for best costume
READ CAREFULLY..... this is NOT your typical mahjong tournament
Highest points after 8 games will win the set of tiles (there will be no final championship game). In the event of a tie, highest roll of the dice will determine the winner.
Never played in a tournament before? This is a great one to start!
Experienced tournament player? You'll still find the same competitive spirit with more laid back vibes. There is zero tolerance for rudeness that you may find in other tournaments.
If you are looking for cutthroat competition, this is not the tournament for you.
Bring your 2026 NMJL card.
Tournament rules:
No blanks
Mahjongs will receive the point value of their line
Exceptions:
- +10 if you draw your own tile for mahjong (including joker exchange)
- +20 if you mahjong without using a joker (excluding Singles and Pairs hands)
- +10 for each player for a wall game
- -10 if you discard a tile for someone else's mahjong if they had one or more exposures
Tournament schedule:
2:30-2:55pm Check in & Social hour: Hit the photo booth & Grab food and drinks
2:55-3:00pm Rules Review
3:00-4:00pm Four games
4:00-4:15pm Break: Costume contest voting, Birthday celebration, & Option to move tables
4:15-5:15pm Four games
5:15-5:30pm Tournament winner, Costume contest winner, & Raffle prize winners announced
