🎃☘️ HALLOWEEN AT BRIAN BORU 👻Did you know that Halloween has its roots in ancient Ireland?
Over 2,000 years ago, the Celts celebrated Samhain, a festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.
It was believed that on this night, the boundary between the living and the dead grew thin, allowing spirits to wander freely among us. Bonfires were lit, disguises were worn to ward off unwanted visitors, and even the tradition of carving jack-o'-lanterns began in Ireland — originally using turnips rather than pumpkins! 🔥
Centuries later, Halloween has become a worldwide celebration, but its Irish roots remain.
So, what better place to celebrate than at Bergen's authentic Irish pub? 🇮🇪
This Saturday, 31 October, we're bringing a little of that ancient Celtic spirit back to life at Brian Boru Bergen!
