About this Event
In this three-hour workshop, instructor Thayer Bray will guide you through creating your own Halloween-themed zine —perfect for making a stack to hand out to trick-or-treaters this Halloween!
You’ll explore several ways to transform a single sheet of standard letter-size paper into a finished publication, including the classic eight-page folded zine with a mini-poster on the reverse, a zigzag accordion book, and a traditional miniature staple-bound comic.
Thayer will take you step by step through the process of planning, drawing, laying out, copying, folding, and binding your zine or comic.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a stack of photocopied copies of your own creation plus a mini collection featuring work made by your fellow workshop participants!
No previous zine-making or comics experience is necessary.

What’s a Zine?!
A zine—short for magazine—is a small, handmade publication that can be drawn, collaged, written, or turned into a comic. They’re inexpensive to reproduce, easy to share, and a great way to turn an idea into something people can actually hold in their hands.
