About this Event
Come and learn about habitat management with the Cardiff Local Nature Partnership- get your hands dirty in the meadow, learn practical skills like sowing seeds, and managing scrub which will contribute to improving Cardiff's one-cut meadows!
This workshop is a chance to:
- Learn how to use yellow rattle to enhance meadows,
- Make a positive difference to a habitat,
- Gain some experience in practical meadow management techniques.
Yellow rattle is known as the 'meadow maker' and is often suggested as a way to enhance your meadows and improve biodiversity. It can also be a tricky plant to establish, and we will go through the steps and learn how to sow it effectively in this workshop. Our efforts during this session will positively benefit the 'one cut' area at Pocket Park and provide you with the skills to use yellow rattle in other meadows.
This workshop is designed with adults in mind but parents who wish to have children accompany them are welcome.

This is an outdoor event so please wear suitable shoes, we will go ahead in the rain- this event may be cancelled if there is a weather warning in place.

- Ddysgu sut i ddefnyddio cribell felen i wella dolydd,
- Gwneud gwahaniaeth cadarnhaol i ddôl,
- Ennill rhywfaint o brofiad mewn technegau rheoli dolydd ymarferol.
Mae cribell felen yn cael ei adnabod fel 'gwneuthurwr dolydd' ac mae’n aml yn cael ei awgrymu fel ffordd o wella eich dolydd a gwella bioamrywiaeth. Gall hefyd fod yn blanhigyn anodd i'w sefydlu a byddwn yn mynd trwy'r camau ac yn dysgu sut i'w hau yn effeithiol yn y gweithdy hwn. Bydd ein hymdrechion yn ystod y sesiwn hon o fudd i'r ardal torri unwaith yn y parc poced a bydd yn eich arfogi â’r sgiliau i ddefnyddio cribell felen mewn dolydd eraill.
