About this Event

Explore the centuries-old Japanese practice of gyotaku, which brings fishers’ stories and their catches to life through art. Naoki will share his journey as a gyotaku artist in Hawaiʻi, followed by a live demonstration of the process.

Light refreshments will be provided and participants will have access to the aquarium exhibits after hours!

Please note that the talk story and demonstration will take place outdoors on the Great Lawn. We encourage you to bring your own beach chair or blanket to sit back, relax, and enjoy the evening.
