Ring in the New Year with Sweden's "Queen of Swing."ABOUT THE SHOW
After a nearly sold-out residency in January, Gunhild Carling returns with a dazzling New Year's Eve celebration that captures the vintage glamour and spirit of the Jazz Age. Far more than just a singer, Gunhild plays an astonishing array of instruments, switching between trumpet, trombone, harmonica, oboe, harp, flute, recorder and even a jazz bagpipe. You might even catch her juggling or tap dancing as she transports audiences to the golden age of New Orleans jazz.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gunhild tours with her own band and performs in several configurations, from solo shows to big bands and symphony orchestras. In 2013, she performed with her Carling Big Band at the Royal Palace in Stockholm for King Carl XVI Gustaf's Ruby Jubilee. She also competed as a celebrity dancer on Let’s Dance, Sweden’s version of Dancing with the Stars. She has been a featured vocalist and instrumentalist in several Postmodern Jukebox songs, including a 1920s jazz swing version of "Material Girl" and a 1920s hot jazz cover of ABBA's "Dancing Queen".
