Norma Gunghoe is a community radio broadcasting sensation with more than a hint of eco-curiousness about her. She is the ‘Unfiltered Voice of Our Community’ and, in her inimitable way, inspires climate action through her strictly limited podcast The Norma Gunghoe Show (premiering November 2026).Norma has been out and about in her anti-facial recognition make-up doing interviews with people like Senator David Shoebridge, and the co-founder of Surfers For Climate Belinda
Baggs. She even talked with the Knitting Nanas Against Gas at a knit-in outside the office of the Member for Page, Kevin Hogan who, to date, has declined an invitation for an interview.
Now the team behind the show warmly invites you to be part of the action when they host the Gunghoedown at the Mullumbimby Golf Club on October 17. There will be an update on the show’s progress and a meet-and-greet with the team including, of course, the one and only Norma. There will be performances by The Special Kays and other surprise guests. You can even be an extra in the show if you want as the team will be shooting scenes for the final episode on the night.
Societa, the Club’s highly rated restaurant, is open at 6pm so bring your friends for dinner, grab a drink and swoon to the ambient tunes of DJ Vinyl Lionel. Who knows, you might just take home a piece of soon-to-be incredibly valuable piece of Gunghoe memorabilia in the strictly non-heteronormative raffle!
