Join Coastal Table and Tales for a hands-on cooking class with Sallie Ann Robinson — sixth-generation Daufuskie Island native, Gullah Geechee cookbook author, and James Beard Foundation award-winning chef.
With Chef Sallie Ann, you'll prepare crab rice, baked chicken apple nut salad, and sweet potato cornbread for dessert. Along the way, she'll share stories from her life on Daufuskie Island and the rich culinary traditions of Gullah Geechee culture.
This is a rare chance to cook alongside a James Beard Award-winning cookbook author and matriarch of the Gullah Geechee community — and to hear firsthand history and heritage from one of the culture's most celebrated voices.
