Edgars Rubenis: experimental ragtime guitarEdgars Rubenis is a Latvian composer and guitarist whose work engages with traditions of early blues and ragtime resulting in bold and contemporary instrumental music.
His three album project Pains and Boogies has been published by dis ce que in the Netherlands and contains albums Slow Lightning (2022), Sea Unbound (2023) and Shelterbelt (2025).
With background in experimental rock music and contemporary composition, Rubenis shifted to working with acoustic guitar in 2020. Since then his music has been featured on London's Resonance FM radio, in concerts along with the Welsh guitarist Gwenifer Raymond, Kadonnut Manner from Finland, and on various festivals and tours in France, UK, Sweden, Belgium, The Netherlands and the Baltics.

Heikki Ruokangas (b. 1987) is an innovative guitarist, composer and improviser from Finland. His music is a dialogue between melody and noise, shifting from soothing and sensitive moments to violent avant-garde expression, to distinct melodies and atonal motifs. Ruokangas draws his inspiration from avant-garde, contemporary, and traditional jazz as well as from his native Finnish musical heritage and traditions. He's performed in United States and throughout Europe and has released over 20 collaborative and solo recordings.
