About this Event
Discover a different side of the outdoors after dark.
Join me, outdoor instructor and wildlife filmmaker Will Hall, for a guided night walk exploring the sights, sounds and hidden details we often miss once the sun goes down.
We’ll explore natural navigation, hear the stories behind the constellations and look for clues left by wildlife. Using UV torches, we’ll also discover fluorescence: colours and patterns normally invisible to our eyes.
When skies are clear, we’ll look upwards to identify stars and constellations. On cloudier evenings, there’s still plenty to discover closer to the ground.
No previous knowledge is needed, just curiosity, warm layers and a willingness to see the night differently.
Our walk explores the woodland of Craig Phadrig, looking for wildlife and discovering how the forest changes after sunset. We’ll use thermal imaging to search for signs of nocturnal activity and UV light to reveal hidden fluorescence along the way.
