Join us and our guest speaker from M.U.S.H. Oklahoma for a morning filled with FUN-gi at Lake Thunderbird! We will meet at the Indian Point Day Use parking lot (located at the northeast corner of Indian Point Road and Alameda Drive) starting at 8:45 am. After a brief introduction to the fantastical world of mushrooms, we will set out for a 1.5-hour hike on the Hog Creek Trail to learn how to identify different mushroom species. You'll also learn about fungi’s vital roles in our environment and how to become a responsible steward of these often-overlooked organisms.
Please come prepared for a low-to-medium-difficulty hike by bringing the following:
- Water bottle
- Hat
- Comfortable closed-toe shoes
- Bug spray
- Sunscreen
- Light colored clothing (easier to see ticks)
Weather permitting. In the case of lightning or severe weather, this event will be cancelled and rescheduled.
