What if the goal is not simply to fight over the same margin, but to grow the value created across the chain? That is the idea behind Growing the Pie, a #Agrilink2026 seminar from the Postharvest Horticulture Training and Research Center.The session will examine the difference in thinking between supply and value chains. It will look at how reducing physical losses, sending quality signals back to farms, coordinating volume and schedules, and performing value-adding functions closer to production can increase the total value available to participants in the chain. It will also position agri food hubs as a practical mechanism for coordination, while looking at siting, operating rules, maintenance, and the role of traders in a functioning system.
