Growing the Community in the University, the University in the Community

This in person only conversation will bring together insights between QMUL’s civic partnership work and the Smart Cities Research Lab in the United States. Dr. Davarian Baldwin will share insights about the Lab’s work including on community benefit agreements, community charters, and other advocacy tools, which ensure universities contribute to equitable development and community well-being. He will also highlight the Lab’s health equity partnership with Social Mission Alliance. QMUL Civic Engagement team will share their toolkit on equitable partnerships for civic, community and university partners and a new ERIC-funded 'Research with East London communities: guidance and resources for place-based research'. The session will focus on shared priorities and collaborative strategies.
