What if your garden could continue supporting your wellbeing all winter long, not just in July?As the days grow shorter and the garden settles into winter, there are still ways to grow, preserve, and enjoy nourishing food throughout the colder months. This workshop brings together the worlds of gardening, food, and seasonal wellness, exploring how a year-round garden can help keep fresh, nutrient-dense foods within reach from fall through spring.
Join us for an inspiring and practical exploration of how we can make the most of what we grow from the soil beneath our feet to the food on our winter table.
🌿 Guided by Hélène of Hélène’s Garden
Our guide, Hélène of Hélène’s Garden, brings together her scientific background and years of hands-on experience growing food in challenging northern climates. Through her work, she shares practical ways to extend the growing season, grow indoors and outdoors, and cultivate greater independence, resilience, and abundance through food.
What you’ll discover:
🥕 From garden to table : explore the connection between healthy soil, nutrient-dense food, food storage, and nourishing ourselves through the seasons.
🌱 Fresh food through winter: discover what you can grow, harvest, preserve, and keep on hand from October through April, both indoors and outdoors.
🥬 Grow what nourishes you : explore vegetables, greens, herbs, and other nutrient-rich foods that can become part of your winter garden and everyday meals.
🍵 Seasonal wellness habits : simple ways to bring gardening, growing, harvesting, preserving, and eating into your daily winter rhythm.
🧺 Homegrown vs. store-bought : consider what changes when fresh food comes directly from your own garden, and how growing your own can give you greater connection to what you eat.
Whether you’re new to gardening or have been growing for years, this workshop will inspire you to think beyond the summer harvest and discover how much nourishment a garden can continue to offer throughout the colder months.
