About this Event

Join the Ecology Service Community Gardeners, who’ll guide you on:

  • how to plant a small edible pot with a compact tomato plant and herbs suitable for a balcony or sunny windowsill
  • teach you simple tips for growing food at home, reducing food miles and reconnecting with seasonal growing.
  • You will also plant edible herbs in the Brompton Library terrace planters contributing to our shared community growing space.

And Yes, you get to take home a free plant!

Suitable for families and all ages.

Event cordially delivered by the Ecology Service Community Gardeners.

The Holland Park Ecology Centre, opened in September 2013, provides a purpose-built base for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Ecology Service. The centre is an invaluable environmental education resource for schools and residents to enjoy and learn about the natural environment.

The centre also provides a unique space that is used for public events and can be hired for birthday parties, functions, meetings and training purposes.

Community Gardeners led workshops provide opportunities for residents to engage in food growing and horticulture, providing a space to learn new skills, connect with nature and develop meaningful connections with others.

We work with community groups, mental health support groups and the NHS to provide gardening opportunities in community spaces across the borough.
