About this Event
Group Stretch: An Introduction to Thai Bodywork
In a city that moves fast, this is your invitation to slow down — together.
Group Stretch: An Intro to Thai Bodywork is a community-centered workshop exploring the foundations of Thai bodywork in an accessible, welcoming third-space setting. Think: soft lighting, floor mats, deep breaths, and collective exhale.
Rooted in centuries-old Thai healing traditions, this practice blends assisted stretching, rhythmic compression, and mindful touch — often described as “lazy yoga.” You’ll work in pairs (friends, partners, or someone new) to learn simple, supportive techniques that help release tension, increase mobility, and reconnect you to your body.
This isn’t clinical. It’s not performative.
It’s about presence, reciprocity, and care.
Together we’ll explore:
- Foundational Thai bodywork principles
- Gentle assisted stretches for hips, shoulders, and spine
- Grounding compression techniques to regulate the nervous system
- Clear communication + consent practices for giving and receiving touch
No experience needed — just comfortable clothes and openness to shared learning.
Perfect for yoga lovers, artists, service industry folks, desk workers, dancers, and anyone craving intentional connection in Philadelphia’s thriving third-space ecosystem.
Come stretch.
Come soften.
Come co-create a little more ease — together.
If you'd like, I can also make a shorter IG/Eventbrite preview version that still keeps the Philly flavor.
