Group public walk - Saturday 21 November at 11am.Stiperstones Stomp - 4.9 miles (7.85km) - grade 4/5
This circular route takes in the very best of the Stiperstones National Nature Reserve with its dramatic frost shattered tors, far reaching clear views and stunning heather displays.
You will see a wide range of birdlife including skylarks, meadow pipits, red kites and buzzards and possibly red grouse, peregrine falcons and common snipes. We may also see roe deer and adders. You will learn about the flora and fauna you see along the way and the history and folklore of the surrounding area.
It's graded four as there is a long steep ascent at the start (about 30-45 minutes) which requires a decent level of fitness - but as usual we take it at the rate of the slowest and stop frequently.
Don’t let this put you off - the views at the top are your prize for all that initial hard work!
Our guided walks are deliberately kept small - with a maximum of six participants - giving you a more personal, relaxed and exclusive countryside experience.
