Grief Support Gathering at Valor FarmsA Morning of Remembrance, Fellowship & Hope
Valor Farms | Richmond Hill, Georgia
Grief is a journey that no one should have to walk alone.
The Brett J. Morris Avenger Foundation invites families and friends who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a loved one to suicide to join us for a peaceful morning of fellowship, remembrance, faith, and hope at Valor Farms in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
We understand that losing someone to suicide brings a unique kind of grief and one filled with questions, emotions, and struggles that can sometimes feel impossible to put into words. Our desire is to create a safe, compassionate space where individuals can come together with others who understand this journey.
This is not about finding the right words, having all the answers, or feeling pressured to share. It is simply about being together.
Nestled in the peaceful surroundings of Valor Farms, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting healing through connections with horses, we will enjoy a relaxed morning away from the busyness of everyday life.
What to Expect
Our morning will focus on meaningful connection, comfort, and community through:
Coffee, Light Bites & Fellowship: Enjoy a relaxed morning connecting with others who understand the journey of grief.
Time at the Farm: Experience the peaceful surroundings of Valor Farms, with opportunities to meet and spend time around the horses as permitted by the farm.
Sharing & Remembrance: A welcoming space to speak about our loved ones, share memories, listen, or simply be present.
Faith & Encouragement: Moments of prayer, scripture, and reflection as we seek God's comfort and strength through grief.
Quiet Reflection: Time to enjoy the surroundings, breathe, reflect, and find a moment of peace.
Activities will be gentle and participation is always optional.
Come As You Are
Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are welcome.
Come with your memories, your questions, your tears, and even your laughter. There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and there is no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable sharing.
We believe that even in life's darkest valleys, God is present. While grief may never completely disappear, we can find strength in Him and comfort in walking alongside others who understand.
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18
Registration is requested so we can thoughtfully prepare refreshments and accommodations for those attending.
Please note: This is a faith-based community support gathering, not a formal counseling or equine therapy session. Farm activities will be coordinated with Valor Farms and may be adjusted.
You Are Not Alone. 🤍
Our prayer is that everyone who joins us leaves knowing they are seen, their loved one is remembered, and they do not have to carry the weight of grief alone.
Together, we remember. Together, we find strength. Together, we hold on to hope.
We would be honored to have you join us.
