Welcome to the Grey Matters Nexus — Inaugural Meet-Up!
The first of our bi-weekly gatherings: Cambridge academics, industry leaders and investors meet young scientists and aspiring entrepreneurs to turn ideas into reality, at the launch of Grey Matters Nexus.
Grey Matters Nexus is an informal, non-profit forum where senior academics, seasoned industry leaders and potential investors meet with young scientists and aspiring entrepreneurs to help turn ideas and prototypes into reality. Support funding for patent applications will be available.
Join us for our inaugural meet-up — the first in our planned bi-weekly series. Two early-stage student ventures will pitch their ideas to a panel of Cambridge academics, an engineering and business advisor, and an IP/patent specialist, followed by informal roundtable discussions to start ongoing conversations between academics and students.
Future sessions will continue in the unique and informal setting of Kettle's Yard, surrounded by modern paintings and objets d'art — our next gathering is Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
Who should attend: senior academics, industry leaders and investors keen to share their experience and networks with the next generation, student founders and aspiring entrepreneurs with early-stage ideas, and anyone interested in how experience and ambition can combine to drive innovation.
