Alongside my life as a ceramic artist, I spent decades working as a physician in a variety of cultural and geographic settings. These experiences continue to shape how I see the world and find their way into my work, often in ways I don't consciously recognize. When I travel, I frequently collect clay from the places I visit. Bringing these materials home creates a tangible connection to those landscapes and experiences, even when I cannot say precisely how they will influence what I make.
