What could the growth of green energy and new industries mean for Ramsgate – and how can local people benefit?
This community event will form part of a wider programme hosted by Discovery Planet and the Green Catalyst programme, focused on building awareness of the green economy and helping to create pathways into green-sector apprenticeships and careers.
Ramsgate is well placed to play a role in the growth of green energy, maritime industries and the wider transition to a low-carbon economy. With the Port of Ramsgate, the emerging Green Campus and opportunities connected to offshore renewables and other low-carbon technologies, there is potential for new investment, businesses, jobs and skills.
The event is an opportunity for local people to find out more, ask questions and join the conversation about what these changes could mean for Ramsgate.

The event follows the Green Energy, Marine & Coastal Innovation Forum held at the Port of Ramsgate on 10 September, which brought together industry, government, education, research, skills and investment organisations to explore the opportunities emerging from the green and blue economies.
This event brings that conversation to a wider local audience, with a particular focus on turning growth in these industries into tangible opportunities for local people.

The event is open to local residents, young people, parents, businesses and anyone interested in the future of Ramsgate, green industries and the opportunities they could create.
No specialist knowledge is needed and the event is free to attend.
