About this Event
With the midterm elections approaching, political disagreements are once again testing friendships, family relationships, and our ability to have civil conversations.
Have you ever found yourself wondering, "How can they possibly think that?!" when talking politics with a friend, family member, or colleague?
As Christians, we're called to something greater than simply winning arguments. But how do we stand firm in our convictions while treating those who disagree with us with patience, honesty, humility, and love?
Join us on Wednesday, October 28 — just six days before Election Day — as we welcome back Dr. Matthew Wilson for a timely and thought-provoking talk:
"How Can They Think That?!: Christian Engagement in a Polarized Society"
Dr. Wilson will share practical strategies for engaging constructively across political divides, challenging us to put Christian virtues into practice even when disagreements run deep.
Dr. Wilson is the Kairo Endowed Director of the Center for Faith and Learning and Associate Professor of Political Science at SMU. A Duke Ph.D., published author, and frequent political commentator, he brings a unique combination of academic expertise and Christian perspective.
Many of you will remember his excellent 2024 Great Men talk, "Disagreeing Without Being Disagreeable." We're delighted to welcome him back for another conversation that couldn't be more timely.
