About this Event
A Weekend of Community & Connection in the Mountains
Nestled high in the Mount Baker wilderness, GORP Camp 2026 is a weekend for people who believe the best memories are made around a dinner table in a rustic lodge filled with laughter and new friends.
This is our third year running GORP Camp, and this year is a little bit different. We’ve scaled back the event to accommodate 35 to 45 campers, and we want to put the focus on gathering together to enjoy nature. In addition to our activities at The Lodge, you’ll have access to an extensive trail system to explore on your own time or in small, unguided groups. We’ll review Leave No Trace principles, wilderness regulations, and trail etiquette at The Lodge so you feel equipped to tackle trails here or back home.
Our home for the weekend is the Mountaineers' Mt. Baker Lodge — a humble mountain lodge that has welcomed adventurers for generations. Surrounded by rugged peaks and spectacular mountain scenery, the lodge offers stunning views of Mt. Shuksan and the surrounding wilderness. This isn't a luxury resort. It's a place where stories are shared over warm meals, boots and wet gear hang to dry in the basement, and friendships are forged in a shared bunkroom. There’s a small, cozy living room for quiet conversations, a dining area for meals, and basement space for crafts and small-group activities.
The setting is stunning. The lodge is simple. The people are what make it GORP.
So what happens when you put a bunch of outdoor-loving people together in a mountain lodge for a weekend? A little bit of everything. Come ready to eat, create, play, laugh, dance, learn, and make some new friends.

More About Your Home for the Weekend:
The Mountaineers’ Mt. Baker Lodge is surrounded by beautiful views and the lodge is within walking distance to some of the area’s most beautiful wilderness areas. It will be our home for the weekend – let’s fill it with laughter and a little magic.
This is a rustic mountain lodge with shared bunk rooms and communal spaces. While The Lodge has heating, the dorm rooms can get cold! Stays at The Lodge are provided through The Mountaineers, and they ask folks to come ready to pitch in with some chores throughout the weekend. GORP is all about community, and part of that is leaving spaces better than we found them!
Things to Know About the Lodge
- Limited connectivity and electricity: There is no Wi-Fi, no charging station, and cell service can be limited. The Lodge is powered by a generator, which is typically on in the morning and evenings. We have asked for it to remain on during the event. We will have a large powerbank available for emergencies, but please consider bringing a small battery bank for your personal devices.
- Shared sleeping: You'll sleep in a communal bunk room with other campers. It may be noisy, so earplugs will be provided. The bunk room can get cold; we recommend a warm sleeping bag and a hat!
- Showers and Flush Toilets: There are two showers for the lodge and flush toilets are also available.
- Lodge chores are part of the experience: The Mountaineers Lodge is run by volunteers. We’ll ask you to do at least one chore for each night you are at the Lodge. You'll help with things like cleaning up after meals and keeping shared spaces tidy.
- Mountain roommates: This is a rustic mountain lodge, so occasional critters are part of the deal. Please don't leave food lying around. A critter-proof food locker is available in the basement to store food. It’s necessary to keep your food in the food locker to prevent it from being nibbled on. There is no cold storage/refrigerators. If you need cold storage, please bring a small hard-sided cooler with ice.
- Mountain conditions: October in the mountains can mean anything from beautiful fall weather to cold, wet, windy conditions. Keep your eye on the weather and pack accordingly. Bring what you need for a comfortable weekend, including toiletries, a towel, sleeping gear, warm layers, and anything that helps you sleep well. If you need help acquiring or borrowing gear, the GORP Discord Channel is a great place to ask for assistance.
About Your Hosts!
Miranda Webster, Miranda Goes Outside
Miranda Webster’s love affair with the outdoors started when she took a college summer job at a local outdoor store. She knew nothing about hiking or camping, but threw herself into it anyway - and was hooked. That year, she bought her first pair of hiking boots, and a decade later, she’s made a career out of sharing her love of hiking, backpacking, and camping.
Miranda is the talent and content creator at Miranda Goes Outside. In 2019, Miranda partnered with Rainer Golden and the REI Co-op Studios Team to create “Miranda in the Wild.” The goal was to break the cycle of overly serious and seemingly unobtainable outdoor content online, and instead share content that reflected the joyous, and even silly side of camping and hiking – helping people to feel welcome, and answer some of the big questions: what do you eat, what do you pack, and where do you poop?
Anastasia Allison, Kula Cloth
Anastasia Allison is a former park ranger and police officer turned full-time entrepreneur. A near fatal car accident became the catalyst for her to pursue her dream of living an adventure-inspired life. She is the creator of Kula Cloth and the inventor of the Rapunzel Gaiter. She started her company in her guest bedroom and now her products are sold all over the world.
She lives in a cabin on a lake surrounded by granite cliffs with her husband Aaron, who plays the ukulele, and their three cats, Niko, Cinder and Esa. When they aren't performing music together, they try to spend as much time as possible riding motorcycles and sleeping in tents.
