Goodbye Awkward “Hellos”: Introducing Yourself With Confidence
Introducing yourself can feel surprisingly difficult. A big meeting, a networking event, the “tell me about yourself” moment in a job interview … when the spotlight is on us, we have a lot to think about. How do we open clearly and confidently to make a positive first impression on those that we meet?
Nailing your personal introduction is one of the foundations of becoming a more confident communicator overall.
In this interactive workshop, led by Brighter Works co-founders Kirsty Cooke and Michelle Fahrenheim, you will find a warm, supportive space to discover, practise and hone your personal introduction: what to say, how to say it, and how to make sure it lands as you intended.
Through discussion, pair work, practice and play, you will leave this workshop with:
- A way of introducing yourself that feels authentic to you, and works in scenarios you actually face.
- Greater confidence in talking about yourself and your achievements or skills (in an engaging, natural way).
- Plenty of practice under your belt, in a fun, encouraging environment.
Feel more comfortable introducing yourself, make sure you’re memorable for the right reasons, and take the pressure out of the “Oh no! It’s my turn!” moment.
A key skill in your confident communication toolkit, sorted.

Meet Brighter Works
Kirsty Cooke is a communications professional and marketing consultant who has spent the last fifteen years helping brands find and tell their story. She brings that same thinking to people: helping them work out what makes them worth listening to.
Michelle Fahrenheim is an actor, writer and coach who has spent the last fifteen years helping people find and use their voice. She has helped diplomats, educators, and senior creatives to speak with more clarity and impact.
Together, they combine the craft of storytelling with the tools of performance: so workshop participants don’t just uncover what they want to say, they learn to say it with confidence.
Both are trained improvisers, and regularly perform in theatres across the UK. They believe that bravery isn't something you wait to feel: it’s something you need to practise. And they believe doing hard things can be fun.
