About this Event
Good Game Dev Club is a pay-if-you-want monthly games industry meetup which takes place at Loading Bar in Dalston, London. The event is aimed at anyone who works in the games industry, or is trying to break in. Its open to anyone to make friends and help the community to be a good place to exist in.
If you're developing a game and would like people to playtest, please feel free to bring along your laptop and you can setup in one of the booths. Each has a plug socket below the seat.
SPEAKER - George E. Osborn - Editor, Author, Consultant
George is Editor of Video Games Industry Memo, writer of Power Play: Video Games, Politics, and the Battle for Global Influence (June 2026), and founder of Half-Space Consulting. He writes about the intersection of video games and politics. He also provides advice to NGOs, corporations, and Governments about the games industry, helping them to understand, navigate, and work in the market successfully.
George has taken on responsibility of curating a new one day conference during London Games Festival, Games For Change. Hosted on Wednesday 15th April, Games for Change London will bring together 150 game makers, civil society reps, academics, and policy-makers to discuss how games can power social impact across society.
š¤ A track of inspiring talks and panels discussing how we empower individuals, cultivate communities, and create a movement to use games for good.
š¬ A series of 90-minute long roundtables to allow participants to go in-depth on the impact of games on areas such as public health, sustainability, equity and inclusion, education, promoting prosocial spaces, and more.
š ļø Practical workshops aimed at inspiring game designers to develop games for good from the ground up.

He previously worked at UKIE as Head of Campaigns and Communications, which included managing the press office, including proactive and reactive enquiries; running industry campaigns, including securing funding, budgeting and delivering across channels; building consensus amongst industry through the communications working group; and leading on creation and delivery of owned internal and external communication.

Good Game Dev Club (normally) takes place on the first Thursday of every month.
Come talk game development, air your views about Unity licencing fees, discuss marketing strategy, celebrate the birth of a wave of new games journalism groups or discuss government games policy. It's all good.
