Discover the beauty of traditional goldwork embroidery in this luxurious, hands-on workshop, where you will create a stunning hand-embroidered bumblebee embellished with shimmering metallic threads, golden purls, beads and sequins.

Working on a beautiful ivory fabric background, you will learn how to build up the intricate details of your bumblebee, exploring a variety of goldwork techniques to create texture, definition and a beautiful play of light. From the delicate wings and striped body to the fine details that bring your bee to life, each stitch will contribute to a richly textured and wonderfully decorative design.

You will be guided through the process step by step, discovering how to combine traditional hand embroidery with the sparkle of metallic threads and embellishments. Your finished bee will be framed within an elegant heart-inspired design, adorned with delicate floral details and a decorative beaded edge.
To complete your piece, you will transform your embroidery into a beautiful hanging tassel decoration, finished with a coordinating golden tassel and an ornamental hanging loop. The result will be a unique, heirloom-inspired textile treasure, perfect for displaying on a door handle, in a window, from a decorative branch or as a special addition to your home.

This workshop is suitable for those who enjoy hand embroidery and would love to explore the richness of goldwork in a relaxed, supportive and creative setting. Whether you are new to goldwork or looking to expand your embroidery skills, you will leave with new techniques, a deeper appreciation of decorative hand stitching and a truly special handmade ornament to treasure.

Come and enjoy a little golden magic as you stitch your own magnificent bumblebee.
You will need gold work threads, fabric and basic needlework tools. Detailed requirements will be emailed to you in advance of your class. Use your stash or shop for everything you need in store or online at Tudor Rose Patchwork.
