About this Event
Godspell tells the story of Jesus’ ministry, based on the Gospel of Matthew, through the lives of ordinary people, exploring the power of community, compassion, forgiveness, and hope in the face of uncertainty. For our production, we have reimagined the setting through the lens of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, placing these characters within a community confronting displacement, loss, and the devastating consequences of disaster. This shift allows us to explore the story with renewed nuance and urgency, grounding its moments of joy, humor, and fellowship in the very real circumstances of human suffering and resilience.
