Every story has another layer waiting to be discovered.
In this second two-hour workshop, author, poet, and memoirist Diana Raab will guide you beyond the first draft to explore how memoir becomes more than a recounting of events. Through writing exercises, reflection, and discussion, you'll learn how to shape your memories into a compelling narrative that reveals not only what happened, but why it matters.
We'll explore voice, pacing, structure, scene, dialogue, and reflection, while considering the larger truths that emerge from personal experience. You'll strengthen an existing piece of writing, gain practical tools for continuing your memoir practice, and deepen your understanding of the stories only you can tell.
This workshop is the second in a two-part memoir-writing series. While each session can be enjoyed on its own, participants will benefit most from attending both workshops.
Open to all levels.
Please bring your favorite notebook and pen or pencil, or come early and shop our in-store collection.
This event will be held in our third-floor workshop space, which is only accessible by stairs.
